The BIG day

Hi Lovies!

I am officially Mrs. Olson! I am very happy to say everything went smoothly. From the rehearsal dinner to our extended family's meetings, to pictures and finally the ceremony.

You hear horror stories all the time about disasters happening; people bailing last minute and what have you so I definitely stressed when things got down to the wire.

The bridesmaids went out for breakfast first thing in the morning before the craziness of the day started and the boys went golfing.

Then the bridal party headed to the church for hair and makeup. I did my own and my hair actually cooperated!!! I was so lucky and (due to the entire can of hair spray I used) it held up all day with no touch-ups.

I must say my favorite part of the day were the first looks. Matt looked so handsome and I was so excited for him to finally see my dress. Our pictures came out beautifully and even though it was extremely hot out, it was well worth the sweating.

The ceremony was beautiful! We were both able to get through our vows without getting too choked up. The unity candle and communion added great final touches to represent our union and relationship.

THEN CAME THE PARTAY! I think everyone's favorite part of the wedding is always the dancing. We even had a couple of adorable kids stealing the show!!

All and all everything was a blast and it went through smoothly. There were a few hiccups but we just rolled with the punches :)

Now we are off to enjoy our honeymoon and our first days as husband and wife.

OMG I get married in three days!!

Love is beautiful | shavonspraggin.blogspot.com

I cant believe this day is almost here! I have dreamed of this day for as long as I can remember and in three days I will become an Olson. Now, I am very laid back and never went into "Bride-zilla" mode but to say I am nervous is an understatement. Anyways, I decided today so share a little bit about my soon-to-be Hubby and I and talk about love in general.

It sounds really silly and cheesy but we clicked instantly. We got along really well from the beginning and it felt so normal, like we'd known each other for years. Now both of us can be pretty shy so we both flirted and played those silly crush games for a couple of months. It is so funny when we talk about those days and what we were really feeling but on the outside we were too shy to let it be known.

I remember he was getting surgery on his knee because he had torn his ACL and two other ligaments, and he texted me and said "I want you to be there when I wake up." It was like an angel chorus broke out. But even still I was too shy to admit where my heart was. I'd had my heart broken a couple of times and was too scared to put myself out there. But when he asked me out on our first date after our youth group I was all in.

People laugh and say it doesn't exist but I am convinced I've found my soulmate. Nobody makes me laugh the way he does and lifts up my spirits when I'm crying my eyes out in bed. One of the first times I remember knowing we were going to spend our lives together is when we went on vacation last summer. We were in one of the little boutiques looking at all of the souvenirs and we found these Nemo hats. Instantly, we threw them on and made our friend take pictures of us. Looking back on these picture this is the first time in a long time I had a genuine smile on my face.

So for those saying love doesn't exist and that there's no hope, I hope our story can be of encouragement. Good things happen often when we least expect it, when we aren't looking for it, and when we're busy chasing our dreams. I know this is not usually what I write about but I was in the loving mood. I wonder why?

Anyone up for sharing their love stories??

What's In My Purse?

Hello lovies!!

Sorry I have been M.I.A. for a while. We just moved and things have been really hectic. But I am finally getting back into the rhythm of things so I am back for good! Also, I want to apologize in advance for the quality of some of the pictures. Our new new apartment doesn't have that much lighting yet.

Today I wanted to share a post of what's in my purse! This is a little scary because I tend to throw everything in my purse because it's huge and for some reason I like to carry everything with me but let's get started.

So right now I am using my Steve Madden Bstolen Satchel in the burgundy-ish color. This bag is amazing! I can fit so much stuff in it, the color is muted enough that I feel like I can wear anything with out it clashing, and it has two different types of straps. There is the long shoulder strap for easily toting it around

and two smaller straps to hold the bag. The shoulder strap hangs nicely and is out of the way.

On the back of the back there is a small zipper pouch with cute little tassels on the zipper.

This is my quick-access pocket. I usually toss my phone and headphones in here and anything little that I will need access to quickly. When I'm working I put a few bags of green tea in there because I love sipping on it at my desk.

The inside of the bag has two small multi-function pockets which I tend to not use and another zipper pocket.

In the zipper section I keep a few feminine products so I'm always prepared and a ball point pen for easy access.

Now my favorite thing about this bag is the big open area where I keep quite a few things. But the bag still holds its shape. So in this compartment I keep my Lilly Pulitzer agenda, a pen pouch where I keep my planner utensils like highlighters, colored pens, and white out.

My Savvycents wallet which I have had for a coupled months but wish I would have ordered it long ago. In here I keep my debit card, cash, (Matt and I are working to be debt free so we don't have any credit cards and use cash for most things) and my different rewards and gift cards.

My handy dandy Betsey Johnson umbrella which comes in handy quite a bit with our rainy weather here.

And lastly a little makeup pouch for my loose things. I don't typically carry much make-up with me but I have my go to MAC Studio Fix Foundation and usually an eyeliner pencil. I also keep my pill holder in here which holds all of the vitamins I take on a daily basis, Burt's Bees chap stick, a nail file, hand lotion and ELF oil blotting sheets.

I am very pleased to say that when I grabbed my purse to take pictures for today's post there was no junk in it!! This isn't usually the case so I have to celebrate the small things.

Best Water Bottle Ever!!

Let's talk water.

I am a firm believer that everyone should drink AT LEAST eight glasses of water a day. There are numerous health benefits to keeping hydrated:

  • younger looking skin
  • calorie control
  • happier muscles
  • shiny hair

Need I go on?

While the importance of water is obvious, I was one that found every excuse under the sun as to why I wouldn't drink it. The taste of water, having to drink so much, or simply forgetting to drink it. I was definitely acting like a child but I hated it and I hated the thought of having to drink so much. Until I decided to start filtering my water that is.

Now, those of you that don't taste the difference; you my friends are lucky. It was like night and day for me and I realized how silly I was for doing it wrong all these years. My fiance was kind enough to bring me the Brita water bottle that filters tap water and I fell in love! - He must have gotten tired of hearing me whine about hating the taste of it haha.

I've always seen the larger pitchers that Brita made to filter water but that never worked for me because I'm always on the go but this little thing is a life saver. It is 32 ounces and allows me to have filtered water on the go so I can no longer make excuses for not drinking it. Inside the water bottle there is a straw so the bottle can be held upright for drinking. The straw attaches to the filter which attaches to the lid. So no matter where I am I can have filtered water. Super simple!!

Have you guys had a chance to try this yet? Let me know your thoughts on water intake.
